Washington County Attorney’s Office—2018 Annual Report 16 Truancy In 2018, the Washington County Truancy Intervention Program continued to assist students and families to improve attendance and enhance academic achievement. The ongoing success of our efforts was in no small part accomplished with the support of two new truancy social workers, Gina Morrison and Kasia Heurh. Gina came to us after many years with the Washington County Adult Mental Health Unit, and Kasia joined our group coming from a solid background of working with youth, most recently as the Youth Program Coordinator at Hmong American Partnership. Their vast knowledge and unique experiences make them invaluable assets to our truancy team, and they have already forged solid bonds with their respective schools and made huge impacts on the lives of Washington County’s students and their families through their efforts to curb truancy. 2018 Pledge to Graduate Winners Student at Park High School in Cottage Grove awarded a class ring donated by Jostens Student at Skyview Middle School in Oakdale awarded an iPad Betsey Urbas
