Washington County Attorney’s Office—2018 Annual Report 15 Juvenile Division The overall number of juvenile prosecution cases referred from police agencies continued a slight decline that we have seen in recent years. While the number of delinquency cases continues to stay relatively unchanged, the biggest drops in 2018 from the previous years was in juvenile petty offenses and juvenile traffic offenses. One item of significance in 2018 was that the juvenile division received the most referrals for criminal sexual conduct cases since 2008. School Resource Officer Training on August 10, 2018 The Washington County Attorney’s Office hosted its annual training for school administrators and resource officers on Friday, August 10, 2018, at the Historic Courthouse in Stillwater. Folks from the Youth Service Bureau, Washington County Community Services, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and our own office collaborated to present on several topics critical to our county’s youth, including homeless outreach services, current drug trends, chemical and mental health resources, and social media misuse. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring our school and law enforcement partners together to learn about important issues that each of us face daily in our respective lines of work, and to gain valuable resources and methods that we all can utilize in working with our kids. Over 60 people attended the training that was coordinated by Betsey Urbas.
